I grew up in a small farming community in Central Illinois about 75 miles south of Chicago. I lived in a house that neighbored 2 European Immigrants that both shared a love for the sport of soccer. One was from Italy and the other from Yugoslavia. Both had different takes on the sport but shared a passion to coach. They got me involved in the Pontiac Soccer Club when I was 6. I have loved the sport ever since.
I have played in levels from Recreational to Collegiate (Quincy College). I moved to Madison in 1998 and started coaching at the youth level in 2006. In addition to Verona SC (U18G) and Madison 56ers (U14B), I have coached for MSCR and Madison Magic SC.
I find fulfillment in guiding the development of young players as they grasp the technical and tactical concepts of soccer.
I look at myself as more of a teacher of the game. My main coaching operative is to create an environment that fosters a passion for playing soccer while providing technical\tactical training, promoting sportsmanship, leadership work ethic, and teamwork.
In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, camping, kayaking, working out, and spending time with my family and friends. I also have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology from Quincy College and work for Promega Corporation as a Lead Network Engineer.
