Paul Anjeski Mandatory coaches/managers meeting on Thursday, March 15, 7pm Referee scheduling meeting on Tuesday,
March 20, 7pm VASC/MAYSA 5 v5 tournament Event will
be held Saturday, April 28. We
have received a $1000 donation for the tournament from Millers supermarket. Donors of $500 or more will get their name
on the tournament t-shirt which may use the design from last year's
cancelled tournament. Although
VASC manpower commitment for the tournament should be considerably
less than in former years, we still need volunteers for field marshalling,
posting scores and helping with concessions.
Reddan/MAYSA will schedule games, assign refs and line fields.
Tournament play will most likely be completed on Saturday but
could continue into Sunday depending on the number of teams participating.
Coaches:
This is a Club event and we hope and expect all VASC
teams will participate by fielding at least one team.
Please sign your team up early to guarantee your spot.
Encourage the teams on your spring schedule to participate. Personal invitations are the most effective
way to encourage teams to sign up!!! Competitive Committee report Alliance tryouts
this year will include the Madison Near Eastside, Regent, Verona and
Magic soccer clubs. In an
effort to avoid conflicting tryout dates between clubs, MAYSA will
assign each competitive club dates during the two week tryout window
during which they can conduct tryouts.
Alliance tryouts will take place during the dates assigned
to the Magic Club. Notification of premier players will take place
after the final competitive tryout.
After the premier teams have been selected the classic teams
will be formed. Alliance will
hold high school girls' tryouts after the end of the high school spring
season and tournaments. Friday foot skills training Brian reported
that 40 U9-U11 kids signed up to participate in the foot skills clinics
to be held on the five Fridays in March in Sugar Creek and Country
View gyms. Registration
was $20 although the actual cost per player for the clinics is $40.
The Board approved $800 to cover the balance of expenses. Newsletter schedule
