Spring 2008 VASC Team/Coach/Mgr
Contacts
What
is the roster limit for each age group?
An updated form for 2007-2008 season can be found here.
What is the cutoff
for each age group?
The player must be "under" the age of the group he is playing for up
until July 31 of the summer before play starts. For example, if a child
is 10 years old on July 31st, that following fall and spring he will
play for a U10 team. Because some children wait to start school, this
means that some children will be too old to play soccer with their school
classmates.
Where
do VASC teams practice?
The Club makes practice reservations at the two fields at
Lincoln Street (2 teams per field per time slot), and the
one field at Cross Country Park (2 teams per field per time
slot) and Prairie View Park (1 team per time slot). Recently
the fields at Badger Prairie (across from Reddan Soccer Park) has also been
rented for practices. To make a reservation, FIRST
check the published
schedule on the website to find available
times. Then, email the club
administrator with your requested reservation time(s).
Because practice space is very limited, an alternative solution
is to find
a flat grassy area. You don’t necessarily have to have
goals in order to conduct a great soccer practice.
Can
I have children practice with my team if they aren’t
on my roster? Will they be covered by insurance?
Children practicing with a team who are not on the roster
are not covered by MAYSA or the club. Legally a team should
get a waiver. The club could get coverage if this is a common
practice. There is no formal prohibition, however, to having
non-rostered players practice with your team. However, non-rostered
players are not allowed to participate in any MAYSA league
games.
Who
is responsible for paying the referee? How much should he/she/they
be paid?
Following
are the current MAYSA guidelines on referee payment. Managers
are
responsible for collecting referee fees and paying the referees
at the beginning of each game.
For all recreational matches, the HOME team is responsible for paying the entire
fee. For all matches at the Classic Level and above, each team is responsible
for half of the total required fee (based on the number of referees at the match).
Does
my team need to wear specific style uniforms or have certain
logo, color requirements?
The club uniform color is forest green and white. The club
offers two quality level uniforms to choose from, a lo-medium
and a medium-hi end version. You may order your team's
uniforms through the club. We ask that team managers gather
all the orders for the team and submit them as a package
to the club administrator with a single check (made out to
VASC) for the entire order. The club will then process the
order and arrange for a delivery night, or arrange for the
team manager to pick up. See the Uniforms
Section of the
website for information and order forms.
Can
my soccer team have a sponsor?
Yes. If
you are fortunate to recruit a team sponsor, well done. You
may include a sponsor logo on the uniforms.
